Jenny Schmid

Minneapolis, MN

Jenny Schmid grew up in the Pacific Northwest and currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she runs bikini press international, her comprehensive printmaking studio. Her prints have been purchased for collections including The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The Detroit Institute of Arts, The Block Museum, The Spencer Art Museum, and the Library of Congress. She received a Fulbright Fellowship to Slovakia, the McKnight Fellowship, the Bush Artists Grant, and two Minnesota State Arts Board grants. Her 2020 folio of linocuts, Pandemic/Pandemonium, was purchased by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, University of Minnesota Library Special Collections, and Seattle University. The folio has been featured by both The Print Center in Philadelphia and Davidson Galleries, Seattle. Works presented at the Brooklyn Print Fair include the folio  A Codex of Quotidian Beasts published by with Hoofprint, Chicago, the series of multiplate etching Haunted, and her newest folio in collaboration with the University of Minnesota’s Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine, Disembodied Reembodied.
